How exactly do weight loss challenges work?

Q. I see all of these weight loss challenges scattered throughout the internet, but they usually only have a start and end date with no rules. Are you supposed to come up with an individual plan and then join the challenge for however long it lasts for? What is a challenge?!

A. The first and best of all ways to lose weight is to exercise. Sure, you've probably heard it a million times already, but why then are you still surfing the Net in search for that magic pill? Set yourself a routine to follow and then stick to it, the biggest reason people never get anywhere in life and ultimately never lose weight is that they don't set a specific plan to follow. They just wake up randomly one day and tell themselves that they're going to change their life around by going out and jogging for an hour or two. Next day they do the same thing and start to think that they can really maintain what they're doing for as long as they live. Fast forward to the sixth day and they're in bed telling themselves they'll go out jogging tomorrow. But they never do go out jogging. No matter how determined you are, you will never get anywhere without a clear schedule and plan. (It's just like construction projects, they don't just happen overnight, right?)

What are good weight loss tips for teenagers?
Q. I'm 15, 5'4 and i weigh 172. I really want to loose weight so i can look good in a bikini and have confidence in myself. Help someone give me tips please!

A. Drink a lot of water, like 7-10 cups a day, you'll lose 10 pounds if you do that for more than ten days in a row & eat lots of fruits and vegetables & stay away from greasy foods & try to get some exercise but if you don't feel like doing hard core workouts just make sure you move around a lot & not just sit around.

How does weight loss work? To lose weight, we must lose matter, but what is lost and how?
Q. Suppose a plump man is alone in a cave with no food for a week. Nothing leaves his body since nothing is entering it. He does not perspire because the cave is cool. At the end of the week, he has lost most of his body fats. How did those fats disappear? Do they somehow evaporate? Thank you for answering this. It has been a subject of curiosity for me for years.

A. his body is metabolizing his fat stores for energy in place of food intake. Microscopic cellular reactions are occurring that break this fat down into compounds that can be used for energy that is used to do millions of things. keep your muscles contracting, generate body heat, all the other functions of the body. You do not lose the fat technically, the compounds cannot just disappear. They are being converted into other compounds, the reactions involved generate heat and energy.
